Let's take a closer look at that locket...

One of the very first times I hung out with my DB, we were sitting at a picnic table in front of Bunche Hall trying to kill some time before class. I was showing him my locket, when he noticed that it didn't have a picture inside. I always loved the locket, but never bothered to put anything inside because I figured no one would look (plus, what/who the heck would I put in there, anyway?). Without saying a thing, he tore off a piece of notebook paper and started scribbling. I didn't say anything because 1. I didn't know him that well and 2. If he's a crazy man, it's better not to say anything.

After a solid five seconds, he handed me the paper and told me to put it inside the locket.

It's supposed to be a self portrait sketch with narration in the top left corner, in case you couldn't tell who it was. Who knew that two and a half years later, this picture would still occupy my locket and actually be meaningful? Funny how life works out.

typing with style

I recently bought a new Macbook Air and the first thing I thought was... I need a new case and decal! Instantly, I opened up by browser to Etsy and did some major browsing (My old decal and case were from Etsy as well). Who says you can't glam up a piece of aluminum?

Originally, I had my eye on a Mike Wazowski sticker, but for some reason, the seller disappeared before I could order it. Not a good sign. Since I couldn't get that one, I settled for my second favorite:

"Keep Calm and Carry On." I've always loved this phrase from the minute I laid eyes on it. According to Wikipedia, it "was a poster produced by the British government in 1939 during the beginning of World War II, intended to raise the morale of the British public under the threat of impending invasion. It was little known and never used. The poster was rediscovered in 2000 and has been re-issued by a number of private sector companies, and used as the decorative theme for a range of other products. There are only two known surviving examples of the poster in the public domain."

Even though my computer has been replaced, I didn't have the heart to replace my desktop wallpaper. My DB found it for me since he's a wallpaper fiend and changes his three times a day.

Now, onto my laptop case. It took me a good day or two before I finally settled on one. The seller was a pleasure to work with and promptly answered all of my questions. She didn't have a listing for an 11" air, but was able to custom make one for me.

It is beautifully constructed and well padded. I'm always amazed at what people can do with a needle and thread.

For things like this, you can't really beat home-made.

Some days, I'm too lazy to put an outfit together. So what do I do? Wear all black, of course! This time, wearing all black would be a little dull to my friend's birthday dinner, so I grabbed a festive sweater and some glitzy shoes. Done!

With my room being quarantined, my clothing options are quite limited. I grabbed a handful of clothes out of my closet to last me for the next couple of weeks, so I've just been working with what I have. Most of the time, I'm in boxers and a lakers t-shirt. I hope I can get back in my room soon! I feel so naked without my accessories!

I love that the skirt has two front pockets. The more pockets the better! The wedges are also quite comfortable to walk in, believe it or not. That's Jeffrey Campbell for you. :)
